Deputy-Head Boy and Girl Elected! September 21, 2018 One of the most important jobs at Bangkok Prep in the first few weeks of term is to decide on our Student Leadership Team. Students have been applying for a variety of different positions, all to be announced next week. However, the first to be decided was our Deputy Head boy and girl. The Sixth Form teachers were delighted with the enthusiastic response from our students – and it was great to see that six Year 12 students applied. The role of Deputy-Head boy and girl is to help support the Head boy and girl in their duties. They are frequently called upon to represent the school at school events, meet with school visitors, help organise assemblies and take on projects that help improve the lives of our students in school. The Sixth Form Year Leaders and the Head of Sixth Form, read the applications and invited successful applicants to deliver a speech to all Year 12 and 13 students. The six students were Becca, Ella and Karissa, and Edward, Kit and Shawal. The Sixth Form voted on their preferred candidates. The speeches were impassioned and very well delivered. All the candidates had original and interesting ideas for how to develop our school and how we can help all students thrive at Bangkok Prep. Finally, when the votes were counted we were delighted to announce the results. Deputy-Head Girl: Karissa Harwani Deputy-Head Boy: Kit Glenwright Well done!
