Exam Results underpin Bangkok Prep Academic Achievement August 31, 2018 At Bangkok Prep we all want our children to go to school in a warm, caring environment that fosters individual development and a strong sense of community. We also want our students to leave and go on to lead successful lives in their chosen careers at Universities and beyond around the world. To get there, students need to achieve the best exam results they can to give them the means to choose the best. Our recent exam results are a testament to the hard work and commitment over the previous two years by the students and teachers with the support of parents and family. In the Advanced Level qualification (A Level), our largest cohort of Y13s returned a very good overall pass rate of 97.3% where 27% of all grades were A*/A. 15 students, nearly a third of the year group, earnt three or more A*/A/B grades. Our graduates are currently finalising their choices of where to study in the face of many offers from around the world. We will be updating you as soon as we have a full picture. Not wanting to be out done by the older students, our Y11 students returned an exceptionally good set of results, which even improved on last year’s record breaking performances. This year 89.9% of all grades were passes (A*-C) with almost half (49.7%) of the grades at A or A*. Please note that exams are not any easier: our students and teachers know the value of hard work and good learning. A good measure of success is the number of students with 5 passes at A*-C, our result here of 92.6% also improved on last year. There are many success stories amongst the overall data. Two students achieved 10 A*/A grades closely followed by five earning 9 A*/As. For me, our most impressive result was that our students gained on average 0.54 of a grade higher than predicted when compared to all students who take the I/GCSE exams yearly. This is where the school and students add ‘value’ to their attainment. Well done to last year’s Y11 and Y13! They have shown us what can be achieved with the right mind-set in the right environment. Our Marketing department will be sharing more success stories over the coming weeks so please check our social media feeds to find out more.
