Icarus – Rehearsals Underway May 17, 2018 Performance Dates: 13th and 14th of June Pre Show reception is in Block B at 5PM Performance in the Secondary Auditorium at 5.30PM The Secondary Creative Arts department are pleased to announce that tickets are now available from the School Shop on the Secondary Campus. Tickets are free and limited to four per family. The Secondary ‘Icarus’ performance is a devised show that is inspired by the Greek Myth ‘Icarus and Daedalus’. Over 130 Key Stage 3 and 4 students are currently busy in drama rehearsals, orchestra, curriculum lessons and workshops to develop storytelling techniques including: Physical Theatre, performance poetry, choral work, designing set/props/costume and playing, singing and interpreting musical numbers. This performance is the first of its kind at Bangkok Prep and the focus is a student led collaborative performance including Music, Drama, Art and DT skills. We will also have the world renowned Puppeteer, Gary Friedman, who has worked with Nelson Mandela, come to work with a select number of students to produce a scene for the play. Professional Music Producer, Roo Pigott will be working on sound with our staff and student technical team. Our first ever summer production will be one not to miss and is an opportunity for all involved to develop artistic, performance, leadership and confidence skills.
