Message from the Head of Primary – 14th September 2018

Dear All,

I hope you are all well and fighting off the nasty bugs in and around Bangkok. In the past, I have often commented on how wonderful the support we have here at Bangkok Prep from Parents is. They are always volunteering and supporting the school, in any way they can. This continues to be the case this year, but as we say good luck to Elena, who has joined our Secondary campus, I am delighted to announce that Mrs. Anju Mohnot has graciously volunteered to lead The Friends of Bangkok (FOBP) this year in Primary. We had our weekly meeting this morning, where we finalised dates for relevant celebrations, parties and fun activities such as Funky Fridays, the Teachers Welcome Breakfast, Wacky Wednesdays and Halloween, to name but a few. Please put in your diaries that the FOBP will be organising fun activities for Wacky Wednesday 26 September (in the undercroft from 2.00 – 4.00pm) and Halloween fun activities on Wednesday 31 October (in the undercroft from 2.00 – 4.00pm). Parents are welcome to dress up and join in the fun at the undercroft as well as the children. Please do note that school uniform is expected on this day, but children can bring in Halloween costumes to get changed in to at the end of the day.

I would like to thank our new teacher librarian this year Mrs. Angela Hilderbrand who organised our first Roald Dahl Day this week. I know all the children, teachers and members of the FOBP had some great fun celebrating this amazing author. Mrs. Hilderbrand has proposed more events, just like this one. Thank you Mrs. Hilderbrand, you have been amazing, already!!

Finally, to wrap up this week, I would like to remind parents that there are many nasty viruses and bugs going around Bangkok. Please look after yourselves and if you or your children have a temperature, or are simply not feeling well, please do not come in to school and have a rest, until you are all fit and well. If your child has a temperature, they must stay at home until it is normal again. Get some rest everyone as this is the longest, and arguably busiest, time of the school year!

Best wishes,

Brad Owen
