An Invitation from The Head of Primary – 15 February 2019 BKK Prep, News, Primary February 15, 2019 Dear All, I wanted to wish you all a fantastic, safe and restful, Half Term break. However, before you go, I would like to update you all on a few things. First of all, I would like to thank all the staff at Bangkok Prep for all their hard work, dedication and support so far this year. Amazing examples of this were the outstanding Year 2 ‘Pirates’ Performance that I watched yesterday and the superb informative Year 5 Curiosity Projects all focused around ‘Space and our Solar System’. I would also like to thank the FoBP for all their relentless and unwavering, hard work and commitment to our school community. I do not know where we would be without such dedication and support from parents and staff. Well done everyone! Parents are invited to come along to their child’s Year Group Parent Forum with the Head of Primary this term. A Parent Forum is where parents have the opportunity to receive updates, discuss any concerns, ideas or praise that you may have on your mind. A hot topic at the moment is the air quality in Bangkok. Come along and find out, first hand, how we manage poor air quality and what plans we have for the future. All Year Group Parent Forums will take place in our main meeting room 215 on the second floor of the Primary Campus @53 (This is the same room as Late Zone). Every Parent Forum will be held between 08:00 and 09:30. There is no need to let me know you will be coming. I just want you to be there, if you have the time. Refreshments will be served. While parents are waiting for me to start, I hope that you will meet each other and discuss the Year Group in general and meet new friends and acquaintances and welcome any new parents to our ever growing community. I look forward to each forum and always wonder which Year Group will be the most popular! The Parent Forums are in the school calendar and are on the following dates: Tuesday 12 March Nursery (08:00-09:30) Thursday 14 March Reception (08:00-09:30) Tuesday 19 March Year 1 (08:00-09:30) and Year 2 (13:00-14:30) Thursday 28 March Year 3 (08:00) and Year 4 (13:00-14:30) Tuesday 2 April Year 5 (08:00-09:30) and Year 6 (13:00-14:30) I firmly believe that Parent Forums are an essential form of communication between parents and a Head Teacher and that it should be in person. Should I write anything down from a Parent Forum, it will ultimately create an Action Plan for myself and/or that particular Year Group (or Key Stage) to address, or follow up. It could be as simple as passing on thanks or answering simple questions. I will discuss my ‘notes’ from each Parent Forum with the Head of Year and Head of Key Stage as well as the leadership of the Primary School. Please note that the Parent Forums are with me only as teachers and Key Stage leaders are requested not to attend. My first Parent Forum this term is with Nursery Parents on Tuesday 12 March followed by Reception Parents on Thursday 14 March. I hope you can attend, but please do not feel that you must. Should you miss a Parent Forum due to other commitments, I will always post the relevant presentation on each Year Group Firefly pages the following week. Finally, wherever your travels take you next week, please make sure you look after yourselves and enjoy every minute of the half term break.
