Bangkok Prep Community House Crests BKK Prep, News, Secondary August 28, 2019 The first few days back at Secondary were awash with fun and creative challenges for our students: Paron School of Art were brought onboard to run a community art workshop for secondary school students at Bangkok Prep International School in the design and deliver a large scale community art project over one day for the students, all aged between 13-18 year olds. In order to develop a truly collaborative workshop space, we decided that each student should be able to contribute their own piece of artwork that would ‘jigsaw’ into a larger piece. We love what the students told us of the school’s house system and our task was to capture the love, spirit and history of each of the 4 existing houses into each piece of artwork. We wanted to create an organised illustration for each house, including a broad display of various visual elements and for each artwork to carry strong and distinct visual identities, whilst still maintaining aesthetic cohesiveness between them. The work resulted in 4 large-scale, free-standing ‘house crests’, coming at 250cm tall each. They are now a permanent feature of the schools’ display. On behalf of the team: Min, Panya, Paron, Ploy, Riya and Tarie, we would like to thank all of the students that came through our workshops, and participated so positively to the initiative. Our thanks also go to Tom Banister, Creative Arts Faculty Leader and Tia Court-Smith, Head of Secondary at Bangkok Prep International School for their vision and support in enabling this exciting project.
