Book Week Buddy Reading in the Library BKK Prep, Event, News, Primary March 14, 2019 We’ve had fun ‘buddy reading’ in the library during Book Week. There are several benefits to having a reading buddy. One benefit is for children to build friendships in different age groups, which will encourage a ‘family’ atmosphere and form important community ties between students. For older children, buddy reading helps to improve their communication skills and develop confidence and self-esteem in literacy. Children enjoy taking the ‘teacher role’ and having someone look up to them. For younger children, listening helps to improve comprehension and they are able to read in a safe environment. Besides, who doesn’t love being read to? For more photos, please go to our Library Firefly page or click here. Thematic Magic Embracing the beauty of diversity in our Thematic class!
