Chinese New Year – Early Years and Year 1 Early Years, Event, News, Primary February 8, 2019 On Friday, Nursery, Reception and Year 1 classes all joined together to celebrate Chinese New Year with a range of different learning activities. We come together to enable the Year 1 students to become role models for the younger students and develop the opportunities for friendships across the year groups whilst building all students confidence. We worked in mixed groups had a range of activities including Chinese dancing with (cardboard) swords, writing Chinese characters, searching for zodiac animals, racing in the Great Race and painting cherry blossom trees. It was so amazing to see how well the children interacted with each other and supported each other. Happy Chinese New Year!
