Dia de los muertos BKK Prep, Event, News, Secondary November 6, 2019 On Friday 1st November the World Languages Faculty celebrated Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Students across the faculty had the opportunity to discover more about this incredibly important and influential festival in which people remember and celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us. They learnt about, and added to, the ofrenda (altar), discovered the significance of colour and items associated with the celebrations, coloured in calaveras (skulls), listed to authentic songs celebrating the day, and watched videos from some of our very own Mexican friends. Students also got the chance to remember their own loved ones by adding their photos or names to the ofrenda.
