Extension of Online Learning to at least Friday 7th May BKK Prep, Message from the Head of School, News, Primary, Secondary, Whole School April 28, 2021 Monday 26th April 2021 Re: Extension of Online Learning to at least Friday 7th May Dear Parents or Guardians The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has directed Bangkok Prep, along with all other schools and universities in Bangkok, to keep their physical campuses closed until Monday 10th May at the earliest. We will therefore be continuing our enhanced online learning this week (as announced) and for a further 4 school days at least. Please note that school is closed for a public holiday on Tuesday 4th May 2021. On Tuesday 4th May 2021, there will be no online lessons. The early notice provided from the BMA is appreciated as it gives us all time to plan for the new routines that come with working and learning from home. During this time, our primary concern must be to protect the health of our community and the wider community. Needless to say, we encourage everyone to reduce travel and adjust their lifestyle, temporarily, to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. Indeed, operating hours have been adjusted in Bangkok and there has also been an increase in the possible financial penalties of not wearing face masks. We wear face masks as a personal and social responsibility but please do check when and where you are now expected to wear face masks to avoid a potential financial loss as well. As we do prepare to re-open, the school will be writing to everyone to share a process of self-declaration and self-isolation that will further strengthen our united efforts. Please can I ask that if you or your close contacts are unfortunately diagnosed with COVID-19 that you do let us know? You can contact Mr Owen, Head of Primary or Ms Court-Smith, Head of Secondary directly at primaryhead@bkkprep.ac.th and secondaryhead@bkkprep.ac.th. We will treat your personal information with care and sensitivity, but would like to do all we can to assist the family and your children and to help contact anyone you may have seen outside of school if that is possible and helpful. We will continue to do our very best to follow advice from medical experts and stay healthy. Equally, we must all remember that it is our values of honesty, caring and community mindedness that keep us the special community that we are. I will update you on the situation if necessary by SMS, social media and email. Thank you for your continuing support during these difficult times.
