Global University Visits

This week, Bangkok Prep welcomed university representatives from reputable institutions from around the world, such as Dickinson College (US), Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern (Switzerland), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong) and Temple University (Japan).

These sessions were pertinent in encouraging our students to keep their minds open as they continue to make plans for their post-secondary education after Bangkok Prep. During these sessions students were able to ask representatives questions about student life, course requirements and scholarships available for international students.

The Higher Education Office will be inviting more universities to visit our campus and hopes that both parents and students of Bangkok Prep will support and engage in these conversations.

Greater Bangkok University Fair 2022

On 21 September 2022, the Class of 2023 had the opportunity to attend the Greater Bangkok University Fair, alongside 12 other international schools. The nearly 1,000 attendees at the fair engaged in exciting and meaningful conversations with nearly 180 universities from more than 20 countries. They had the opportunity to learn first-hand about student life, majors, courses and application procedures.

The university representatives at the fair, who are often also the ones reviewing students, had many positive reviews of Bangkok Prep students. They were impressed by how professionally our seniors conducted themselves and by the depth of their insightful questions. The fair also gave our seniors an opportunity to discover universities from many different places that they would never have considered before, thus helping them to make a more informed decision about finding the best fit universities after Bangkok Prep. The Bangkok Prep Higher Education Office will continue to host many different universities on our campus over the year, to continue providing our students the opportunity to engage with universities globally.

US Case Studies Evening

In conjunction with the Greater Bangkok Fair 2022, Bangkok Prep is proud to have hosted the US Case Studies Evening for the first time since the pandemic, on 22 September 2022. 50 university representatives from the US worked with nearly 150 participants comprising parents and high school students from international schools all over Bangkok.

During the session, participants worked in groups led by the university representatives in a mock application process. During the activity, groups were engaged in meaningful discussions about the intricacies that mimic the complex process of reviewing university applications. The evening ended on a high note, when the representatives finally introduced themselves, revealed to the participants the universities that they represent and shared with all the participants what decisions were made by the groups that they led.

Participants found the event to be enriching as it provided them with an opportunity to have a deeper understanding of the holistic application process. We would also like to extend our appreciation to Artin, Pream, Fresh, Snow, Pun, Aki, Fah, Filippo, Parth, Will, Ben, Mim C, Memee, Pim S and Kiri, our Year 12 student helpers who supported the event with much enthusiasm and professionalism.
