Happy Chinese New Year – Good Health and Wellbeing BKK Prep, Message from the Head of School, News, Primary, Secondary, Whole School January 24, 2020 Dear Parent or Guardian This weekend many of our community will be celebrating Chinese New Year. It is a time of celebration and family – some members of our community may be planning to travel to China or receive visitors from China. We would, therefore, like to offer some advice surrounding a serious health concern that you may have read about in the news. Cases of the coronavirus infection have been reported in a number of countries. There have only been a very small number of confirmed cases in Thailand to date and we all hope that there will be no more. There is no reason to think that any member of our community will be directly affected, but, by sharing ways to stay healthy, we can all help each other. Below is some advice from the World Health Organization that you and your family can follow to help you stay well: As well as keeping ourselves well by following this good advice, we would like to ask that everyone helps to promote the good health and well-being in the community. You can do this by: being watchful for the following symptoms: High fever Changes to breathing A cough visiting the doctor if you are concerned, and, as a precaution, keeping children at home if they have a high fever. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that everyone celebrating the Chinese New Year has a wonderful weekend. Both Primary and Secondary students will be able to learn more about this important time of year from the wonderful performances being held in school. Wishing you all a Happy Year of the Rat! 新年快乐!
