Guest Author Visit BKK Prep, Event, News, Primary May 10, 2019 This week in the Primary school it has been wonderful to host author Janice Santikarn at Bangkok Prep to initiate the community project on the importance of reading and how it can positively impact the wider community. In Janice’s sessions, the Early Years and KS1 students have been learning about the craft of being an author and taking an opportunity to explore her stories featuring; ‘Koko the Monkey Lost in Bangkok’, ‘The Little Blue Tuk Tuk’ and ‘Nawin, the young boy who helps rescue elephants’. Following on from this week, Year 2 will focus on organising a children’s book drive and selling the books collected from the primary community. The money raised will be donated to the Neilson Hays Library, a beautiful sanctuary for reading in Bangkok. Please be sure to look out for the Year 2 Book Sale on Thursday 23rd May in the Year 2 Break-Out Area. Year 2 students and teachers are very excited to be a part of this community project and helping donate money to a worthy institute who seeks to instil a love and true passion for reading!
