Internationally Minded Week 2020 - Bangkok Prep

Internationally Minded Week 2020

The children at Bangkok Prep have had an exciting week full of activities to celebrate our Internationally Minded Week. We started off the week with our International Dress-Up Day on Monday where each year group had a parade in their international outfits.

On Wednesday, the students held a Remembrance Day assembly in the Undercroft. They took time to honour the memories of those who lost their lives in war by listening to a presentation by Mr Owen and Last Post, followed by two minutes of silence. We finished by singing ‘You’re the Voice’ together. Throughout the week, children also created their own poppies for our poppy fields in front of Early Years and in the cafeteria.

Friday was our last Internationally Minded day with International Food Halls and exciting assemblies. The Year Group Food Halls had foods from all over the world for students to try. In assemblies, students sang ‘Wavin’ Flag’ while showing off their flag as well as viewed performances sent in by families.

Throughout the week we had other exciting activities taking place in year groups and across the Primary School. Classes paired up with a buddy class and did Artefact Sharing so they could develop relationships across the Year Groups. Some classes were also able to participate in Mystery Zooms where they had to ask questions and use their geography skills to determine where children were at another international school in the world. The children then asked questions about the other children’s school.

You can find more information, photos and videos of all of the fantastic learning that took place this week on each Year Group’s pages.

Thank you parents for all of your support!

Yours faithfully,

Catherine Frisbie and the Internationally Minded Team
