Internationally Minded Week at Primary BKK Prep, Event, News, Primary, Whole School October 30, 2020 Our Internationally Minded Week is coming up in Term 1.2 and we have a lot of exciting activities planned for the students from Monday 9th November – Friday 13th November Monday 9th November: International Dress Day – children are invited to come to school dressed in clothes from either their home country, a country they have lived in or visited. Wednesday 11th November: Remembrance Day – children will observe one minute of silence at 11:00. Friday 13th November: International Food Halls – Year Groups will have an International Food Hall during the day to try foods from all around the world. Please send students to school with a reusable container and cutlery to reduce waste. We would also like to ask students to bring a flag of their home country for our assemblies. Parents, we need your help! We would you to share children’s stories in different languages throughout the week. You can video yourself reading a storybook (the more pictures, the better!) in your native language. Teachers will show these throughout the week. Please email the videos to cfrisbie@bkkprep.ac.th Interested in performing? We can share videos of group performances during our Friday assemblies. Please limit the performance to 2 minutes and email the video to cfrisbie@bkkprep.ac.th International Food Halls! We would like to ask the class parents to coordinate these for each Year Group. Please contact your class parent if you would like to volunteer, all help is greatly appreciated. ***Remember we are a nut-free school and that food should be clearly labelled so students with allergies and dietary restrictions can be safe and happy! (e.g. “Samosas from India (vegetarian)” or “Lasagne from Italy (meat)”) If you have any other ideas for Internationally Minded Week, please contact your child’s teacher directly. Yours faithfully, Catherine Frisbie and the Internationally Minded Team cfrisbie@bkkprep.ac.th Thematic Magic Embracing the beauty of diversity in our Thematic class!
