ISB Swimfest 2019 BKK Prep, Event, News, Primary November 14, 2019 ISB Swimfest was the Bulldogs biggest competition of the season so far with an impressive 86 swimmers competing on behalf of the school. We had representatives from both Primary and Secondary competing. Saturday 9th November saw our young 10 and unders racing for points and personal bests in the morning, and then the 11 and overs made a splash in the afternoon session. There were some outstanding swims and some very exciting races amongst the swimmers from the Primary campus. The 9-10 yrs boys comp was exhilarating with Matt J and Yuki competing for 1st and 2nd place in similar races. Both boys were fantastic and contributed to winning one of many trophies at the end of the competition. Other primary swimmers contributing to the overall point score were Daryl Ng, Leti, Javi,Mel J and Team Captain Lisa M. Our secondary athletes made a huge effort in stepping up against some of the other larger schools in Bangkok. In particular our senior girls who took 2nd place overall for their age category with only 2 representatives! Other notable achievements came from our 11-12 boys who claimed 1st in their age group as well as 11-12 girls who claimed 2nd. Notable swims go to our Boys team captain, Egor who for the first time broke the 1 minute barrier for 100m freestyle – swimming a super speedy 58.6 seconds! Nao and Angelina achieved almost 100 points between them in a spectacular fashion winning multiple events and placing in top 3 often. Rihito managed to swim an incredible 8 second P.B on his 100m Butterfly! Head of Aquatics Ollie Brewer quoted ‘It was fantastic to see so many Bulldogs step up and achieve personal bests and high amounts of points for the team. We are most certainly the underdogs in this field but claiming 4th overall (out of 23) against some huge schools is an incredible achievement. All of our Bangkok Prep swimmers should be very proud of themselves and their performances’. Many thanks must go out to our assistant coaches, Khun Oum, Gift and May for their tremendous help in marshalling and cheering on our swimmers. A big thank you also to our very supportive Bulldog swimmer parents for their courage and motivation! GO Bullgogs!!! Congratulations on your University Offers Nammon K.
