The Kids’ Lit Quiz was finally able to go ahead after Covid-cancellation last year. We had high hopes of emulating the last team to have competed who came 3rd in 2020. We faced stiff competition against some of Thailand’s brightest bookworms from NIST, Shrewsbury, Harrow, Patana, Wellington, St Andrews and British School Phuket.

The rounds were eclectic, covering topics such as Queens, Bugs, and Beards! Our 3 teams each played their Joker on different rounds, Ayaka & Vasu coming up trumps with their selection of ‘France’ earning them a high-score of 18 and establishing them as early leaders. They held on ever so well until the final round with 2 Harrow teams saving their double-point rounds until last, eventually leapfrogging them into 1st and 2nd place.

Our teams did marvellously well earning 3rd (Ayaka & Vasu 🥉), 9th and 11th overall across the field of 23 teams; doubly impressive considering our teams were split between Year 6 (Siya, Leeya, Nana & Izzy) and Year 8 students (Vasu, Ira, Assa, Evie, Ayaka & KJ), well under the age limit of 14.
