KS2 Sports Day 'A Celebration of Sport' - Bangkok Prep

KS2 Sports Day ‘A Celebration of Sport’

What a wonderful way, albeit with an unexpected twist, to end the term and most significantly 2023 in our 20th year as Bangkok Prep. This is the first year the weather has affected our planned Sports Day, resulting in the children instead experiencing a ‘Celebration of Sport’ in the Sports Hall. The children impressed their teachers with their resilience to change, by showing unwavering enthusiasm and energy.

Children had the opportunity to showcase skills taught in Term 1. Skills included a variety of sport skills, fitness movements and collaboration with their peers whilst playing PE versions of monopoly, UNO, the emoji game and of course finishing with the shuttle relay. The events allowed the children to earn plenty of House points. Well done to all the children for their efforts on the day!

Our Year 3 and Year 4 children who ran their 600m on Monday morning, were presented with their 1st-3rd place medal. Congratulations to the medal winners and all the children who earned points towards their House total by taking part in this event.

A special thank you to our excellent events and maintenance team for the Sports Day set up, and the Primary PE department who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare for Sports Day and, when needed, an alternate event and venue. Finally, a big thank you to our amazing teachers, TAs, support staff, sports coaches and PE department who helped to ensure all the children had a fabulous time throughout.

Thank you to our fabulous FOBP for everyone’s ice cream treat. I also hope everyone is still wearing their participation wrist band.

It was a fantastic day and wonderful to see so many happy faces.

Well done to our KS2 Elephants for winning this year’s KS2 Sports Day overall.
