May the Fourth Be With You! BKK Prep, Event, News, Primary May 11, 2023 To encourage the love of reading, the Primary Library sponsored Star Wars Day 2023 on Wednesday 3rd May. Even though it was a school uniform day, children had the option to wear a Star Wars themed costume during lunch break times. The day started off with our very own Mr Stormtrooper and Princess Leia in costume taking photos with students and families in the undercroft and then moving upstairs to Room 215. During lunch break time, the library was flooded with eager children learning how to draw Baby Yoda and Chewbacca. Others were listening attentively during storytime by Disney actors and actresses reading children’s Star Wars books. Many were busily making book markers of their favourite Star Wars characters. But the most popular was the colouring / word search / mazes and puzzles station. Of course there were other children who came to read and use the computers. For our more active KS2 children, we played Galactic Freeze Tag in the sports hall! Do you consider yourself a Star Wars fan? Why not Take this quiz by Mr Powell to see what kind of fan you really are. Special thanks to Mr Stormtrooper (Mrs D’s husband); Martin Powell for his out-of-this world quiz; Ms Ben, Ms Amp, and our library helpers for the library activities and handling the library crowd (about 100+ children during lunch playtime); Ms Netty, Mr Bird, and our Maintenance team for the undercroft backdrop and background music; Reuben Smart for sharing his Star Wars posters and masks; and Coach Palm and Ms CJ for their help in the sports hall.
