Medical Imaging ECA Academic, BKK Prep, Event, News, Secondary May 6, 2022 Future doctors and radiologists of Bangkok Prep have already begun their journey to understanding the immense benefits of modern medicine. In the Medical Imaging ECA students from Year 9 onwards have been learning about scanning patients using techniques including Computerised Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Gamma Cameras, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Ultrasound. Furthermore, they have investigated the physical processes involved using practical techniques, such as modelling the behaviour of nuclei in a strong magnetic field, dividing three dimensional shapes into voxels and determining the critical angles used in optic fibres for endoscopy. Finally, they applied their well-earned knowledge to individual case studies simulating the arrival of patients to the emergency room. Where they were required to assess the symptoms presented, determine the imaging technique to be employed and counsel the person on the procedure, including the final diagnosis! Well done to Natasha, Ben, Cha Cha, Kaimook, Pip, Ree, Boon, Tun-Tun and Miranda for completing the course and we wish you well with your aspirations in medicine. Your future patients will be in very good hands!
