MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF PRIMARY –14TH JUNE 2019 BKK Prep, News, Primary June 14, 2019 “Amazing, thank you all!” Dear all, What an amazing few weeks we have had here at Bangkok Prep Primary! I would like to say thank you to everyone who is involved with Bangkok Prep Community and in particular, our fantastic FOBP. Once again, they have outdone themselves with this week’s FOBP ‘Teachers Appreciation Lunch’. What an amazing array of food, from so many different parents. I have been reliably informed that although we always see the same supportive FOBP members, who are always at our FOBP events, there are also those unsung heroes who we very rarely get to see. The usual suspects are always supporting the school as part of the FOBP but there are also those that support our community from home and from work. Thank you all for the generous donations and wonderful support that we see daily from the FOBP! However, I have one criticism, why is Mr Stonehouse, our Head of School, allowed to attend both Primary and Secondary Teacher Appreciation Lunches? We should make sure and show our consideration that he doesn’t eat too much! You have all been amazing and I thank you all, on behalf of all the staff at Bangkok Prep Primary @53! I will take this opportunity of saying thank you to our ‘adult community’ who always wear their ID badges. Speaking with some younger children this week, who have noticed that everyone is wearing appropriate ID lanyards as it does make them feel safer on campus. I paid particular attention during yesterday’s National Anthem, noticing every adult (except one) was wearing their ID. I went over to challenge the parent and noticed he was holding his ID lanyard, in his hand. This has been an amazing positive response to our recent request to tighten up security @53! Amazing and thank you for your support and understanding. What I find amazing about Bangkok Prep Primary is the ‘community feel’ we have especially after school. Parents and children are not forced off site at the end of the day (like most schools) and are invited to stay and play. It is such a welcoming and amazing experience! However, I remind all parents and carers that once they have signed out their children, they are totally responsible for their safety. Should any children play in the playground, Undercroft of climbing frames, they must be supervised by their parents or carers that have signed them out. The signing of children is to demonstrate that you are acknowledging receipt of your child and that you will be taking care of them, from that point forward. Should an accident occur before 4pm, our school nurses will always be available to support and advise you. Please do be aware that they get to go home at 4pm too! Also, please be advised that the playground swing is locked and not available for use after school unless a member of staff is on duty. I am proud to say that we have just completed our final themed week of activities with an amazing Arts Week (organised by Ms Natasha Jones: Thank you). I am really looking forward to the upcoming silent auctions next week. It has been amazing and I thank you all for your support and attendance, especially with the Year 3 and Year 5 amazing projects this week! Finally, I am still looking forward to what’s coming up before the end of the year. These include: Sports Awards; Year Group, Swim Galas; Afternoon Concerts; Year 2, Holiday Show for Parents; Judo Sleepover; Prize Giving, Year 6 Graduation, Reports and Year Books! To name, but a few; not forgetting the 12:00 noon finish on Thursday 27 June where refreshments will be served for all on our final day of this amazing academic year. Have a great weekend everyone, look after each other and enjoy every minute of it!
