Message from the Head of School Re: Ministry of Education Notification on Cancellation of the Measures for Protection and Control of Coronavirus 19 (COVID-19)

Re: Ministry of Education Notification on Cancellation of the Measures for Protection and Control of Coronavirus 19 (COVID-19)

You may be aware of this week’s announcement from the Ministry of Education which states that the Measures for Protection and Control of Coronavirus 19, will be cancelled (effective from Monday 3^rd October).

This means that from Monday 3^rd October the COVID Preventative measures will be reduced in our school, in line with the government guidelines.

As a result of this notification, at Bangkok Prep:

• mask wearing will be optional
• weekly ATK tests and the presentation of a valid school pass to enter the campuses will no longer be required. However, all staff will be required to produce a negative ATK result before they enter the campus following a holiday break.
• if a student or member of staff feels unwell and has COVID symptoms they should take an ATK test and stay at home
• alcohol gel/hand sanitizers will still be available around both campuses
• thermo scans, at the entrance to each campus, will continue to be the screening device for symptoms of COVID and other illnesses

These reductions in the preventative procedures are a positive sign and now we can all move forward towards an optimistic and exciting future. We fully understand that some parents and students may still be feeling very anxious about not wearing a mask and we would like to reassure you that ‘mask wearing’ is optional.

Our priority will always be the Health and Safety of everybody in the school’s community. We will continue to follow advice from medical experts. Thank you for your continuing support during these difficult times.
