Message from the Head of School BKK Prep, Early Years, Message from the Head of School, News, Primary, Secondary, Whole School June 30, 2021 Wednesday 30th June Dear Parents and Students As we complete the last few minutes of this academic year, I remain extremely proud of all that has been achieved during 2020–2021. This year has been another year of difficult challenges for all of the members of our outstanding learning community. I have been very impressed by the extraordinary resilience that has been demonstrated by the children of Bangkok Prep and despite the pandemic they have managed to make impressive progress as you can see from their end of year reports. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents for your unwavering support for your children’s education. As a parent of three children, I fully recognise that the moments when your children are learning at home, can be very challenging. The regular feedback that you have provided, throughout this year, has enabled the teachers to gain a meaningful perspective on your thoughts and ideas. This feedback has also been essential for the refining of our learning systems and further enhancing the online learning sessions. Learning at home, by its very nature, must be quite different to the learning that occurs when the children are in school. However, we must comply with the government directives and mandates. Without doubt, the teachers would much rather have children in school learning in the classroom but we have had to ensure that safety is always a priority. Please be reassured that the staff at Bangkok Prep will continue to work tirelessly at preparing both campuses to fully open in August 2021. I remain very confident that the COVID -19 situation in Bangkok will improve in the coming months and the new normal will become apparent. You will, no doubt, be pleased to hear that we have invested significantly in the pastoral care and wellbeing of the children in our school. I am delighted to inform you that, by the end of July, all Bangkok Prep staff including teachers will be fully vaccinated and therefore safe to be with your children, in school, for the next academic year. We believe that the full vaccination of educational staff is essential and well worth the substantial investment. I hope that your children will enjoy taking part in the comprehensive supplementary sessions which will begin on Monday 9th August 2021. These sessions are exclusively available for children registered at Bangkok Prep and will be free of charge. Further details of the activities and registration will be shared with you in due course. Our reputation, as a great school, continues to grow and many of our year groups are full for next year. I believe this is a clear indication of the confidence that parents have in our school. Bangkok Prep will be back, stronger and better than ever, for the next academic year. It is really important that children have a recreational break after the recent period of emergency closure and lockdown. I hope you and your family are able to find some opportunities, during the next few months, to spend some high quality time together. Have a wonderful summer break and I look forward to seeing you all safe and sound on Thursday 19th August 2021 for the first day of the next academic year 2021 – 2022. Please stay safe and healthy!
