Michael’s appointment as our first ever Director of Sport aligns with the Bangkok Prep growth plan for the next few years, and with his strategic vision we are confident that he will make our sports department one of the best in this part of the world. With his extensive background and experience, he is a man perfectly equipped for this role. Michael was Head of PE for 5 years at a prestigious school in Abu Dhabi as Head of PE. At the same time, Michael represented the English county of Kent in Cricket, Football and Rugby. How have your first few weeks at Bangkok Prep been? It’s been great getting to know all of the fantastic staff and students at both campuses; in lessons and during the after school program. I have enjoyed many meetings and conversations with parents at both campuses, so please do come and say hello if you see me about. It has been very busy, as all starts to the new school year are, but with such a fantastic PE team and school community it has been made much easier. What is your favourite part about teaching? I enjoy building positive relationships with the students and seeing them progress on and off the field/court/pool, whilst overcoming physical and mental challenges to be the best that they can be as individuals and athletes. What is your aim for the 2019-2020 academic year at school? My aim is to meet and listen to as many parents, staff and students to learn more and more about Bangkok Prep so we can continue to build on its outstanding provision to give the students the very best sporting opportunities, whilst raising the profile of the sports department in Bangkok, Thailand, and beyond.
