Notes from Primary Music – 26.03.2021 BKK Prep, Event, News, Primary March 26, 2021 Jhonás Alejandro Sibila Vegas performs at Bangkok Prep!!!! This week we had the pleasure of welcoming special guest Venezuelan Cellist Jhonás Alejandro Sibila Vegas to perform for all students Years 1-6 at our regular Friday assemblies. Jhonas’ career as a performer and recording artist has seen him travel the world, gaining international experience both as a soloist as well as with orchestras, string quartets and chamber ensembles throughout Venezuela, Ecuador, Greece, Japan, Iceland, Finland, Denmark, Spain and Thailand. Most notable is that Jhonas has worked with the world’s finest conductors, including Maestro Gustavo Dudamel. As a Cello Teacher and Music Educator, Jhonas has educated both local and international music students in cello technique and ensemble performance preparation, theory and musicianship. He was lead cello teacher at the famous school El Sistema. Students were amazed by Jhonas’ wonderful performance of the most famous tango Por Una Cabeza by Carlos Gardel. Jhonas’ kind, positive personality shone through as he answered questions about the Cello that were asked by teachers and students alike. Special thanks to Jhonas for coming to our school to play so beautifully and teach us! We were indeed so lucky to learn from you!
