Operation Smile BKK Prep, News, Secondary October 8, 2020 On Wednesday, students in Years 10-13 were invited to attend an inspiring talk led by representatives from Operation Smile, an international non-profit medical charity. During the talk, students heard about the difficulties faced by young people in Thailand who are born with cleft lip and cleft palate. Khun May and Khun Dyan then delivered information about the Operation Smile medical missions which are available to students. Following this talk, Bangkok Prep students are invited to set up their very own “Smile Club” in an effort to raise awareness and funds for some of our most vulnerable members of the wider community whilst preparing for the medical missions. This initiative may be of particular interest to prospective medics, as the missions allow them to engage with patients, talk with specialist medical professionals and even observe doctors at work in the Operating Room! The Smile Club will be launched in the New Year. For more information, please contact acantrill@bkkprep.ac.th. Thematic Magic Embracing the beauty of diversity in our Thematic class!
