Steph Lindley – Meet the Teacher

Steph Lindley is one of our Year 4 teachers, teaching class 4SL. Her favourite part of teaching is seeing her pupils realise and understand a topic for the first time, the light-bulb moment!

She is a highly experienced teacher with 28 years of teaching experience, having been a teacher since 1991. Steph is seasoned in leadership roles, including working for 2 years for the British Department for Education’s National Strategies school improvement team and also has been Head of School for 4 years.

I asked Steph the following questions to explore further her passion for teaching and inspiring children:

What do you feel to be the most important qualities of a good teacher?

I feel that a teacher needs to be a really good communicator and listener. They need to put the children first at all times and be very patient. Great teachers will make learning fun and memorable – my favourite teachers at school were the ones who did this!

What do you like about Bangkok Prep?

Bangkok Prep is a wonderful place to be a part of. Everyone has been so helpful and welcoming. The pupils are respectful, hard-working and they want to do the best they can. In terms of experiences, there are so many things the pupils can get involved with, far more than in any school I have ever known.

What do you hope to achieve during the 2019-2020 academic year?

I am looking forward to widening my experiences – I will be using some resources for teaching that are new to me and I am very excited about this. I would like my class to leave Year 4 next summer more confident and more able than they are now. I hope to continue to build very happy, positive relationships with the children, staff and parents at Bangkok Prep.
