Term 2 Opening - COVID-19 update - Bangkok Prep

Term 2 Opening – COVID-19 update

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians

Happy New Year 2022! I hope you have had festive holidays and safe travel.

As you are probably aware, the recent Omicron COVID-19 variant has spread around the world at an alarming rate and many of our families have expressed their concerns about the beginning of the school term. Many members of the school community will be returning to Bangkok after travelling from a wide range of destinations and we need to apply caution. To that end, we have taken the decision to begin Term 2 with online learning for a period of one week. Therefore, from Monday 10th January, online learning will commence and this will enable us to significantly reduce the impact of any positive cases on the rest of the community.

We request that all Bangkok Prep students and staff recommence the ATK and School Pass systems from Sunday 9th January onwards so we can be reassured that the health and safety of our community remains in place. We intend to open the school campuses once again for students on Monday 17th January when all of us would feel safe and any risk should be manageable.

Please also note that the examinations for our Sixth Form students will continue to take place on campus, as planned, for all students able to obtain their school pass. The Secondary Leadership Team will communicate with any students as necessary.

Please be reassured that, as we return to school, we will continue with the vast majority of the COVID-19 preventative measures. The Primary and Secondary Leadership Teams will update you with more specific details on online learning and on-site learning in the next few days.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Best wishes
