The Head of Primary writes… BKK Prep, News, Primary November 22, 2019 “for clarification” Dear All, What an amazing week we had for our Internationally Minded week, which was followed this week by our 5 Year Council of International Schools (CIS) and Northern England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) pre evaluation visit. An intense time for all concerned. However, the feedback and clarification that we are a truly Internationally Minded School with a fantastic community spirit, was impressive to say the least. Most importantly, our Safeguarding policies and procedures were highly commended and considered a huge strength of Bangkok Prep! We will have a full report with clarification that we are a great school, including what works well and any recommended areas for improvement, in due course. Prior to CIS and NEASC, our Internationally Minded Week began with an impressive and thought provoking Remembrance Service on Monday 11 November. What was particularly impressive is when we observed a 1 minute silence at 11:00am. I was astounded at how still and quietly everyone stood after the bugler completed The Last Post. In addition, the Student Council managed to raise over 27,000THB for this year’s Poppy Appeal. The official count will be sent to us from the Royal British Legion in the form of a certificate as soon as they have completed counting all the donations across Thailand. I remember the first year I was here in 2014 we raised just over 12,000 BHT which was when our Secondary students were still at our 53 campus. This collection is particularly impressive and I thank all of you who contributed. I would also like to acknowledge our wonderful tradition of Loy Krathong and thank all involved with the Celebration Ceremony. I have never seen so many parents supporting an event in the Sports Hall, where many were wearing Traditional Thai costumes. Impressive and appreciated. Not forgetting the end of the week, which was finished with an impressive parade of countries in their magnificent costumes concluding with our Parent Farmers market. The farmers market was amazing. I left the Sports hall 3 kilos heavier 🙁 Thank you all! Finally, to clarify, please don’t forget parents are invited to our Key Stage 2 Sports Day next Wednesday, 4th December, (weather and Air Quality permitting) which will be held at our T77 Secondary Campus all day. All children are to register at our Primary Campus in their classes as normal and will then take school buses over to T77 first thing on Tuesday morning. Parents will be able to sign out their children from T77 if they so wish. I hope to see many of you there. Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy every minute of it.
