TISAC Debate BKK Prep, Event, News, Secondary May 17, 2019 12 students, 3 teams, 2 trophies and one fantastic day! On Friday, 10th May, Bromsgrove International School, Bangkok, hosted the very first TISAC Debate consisting of 11 teams from 5 schools. The categories were Junior and Senior. After a closely contested battle our Senior Team narrowly missed out on competing in the final by the skin of their teeth. However, this team consisted of Arlena, Dhruv, Brin and Sofia from Y10, who competed against KS5 students. Third is an absolutely fantastic achievement, and I have every confidence that they will go on to dominate in future years. The first of our Junior Teams also narrowly missed out in competing in the final, but Dome, Frances, Sarin and Proud can walk away with the knowledge that they competed to an exceptional standard. Frances should be particularly pleased as she walked away with the Best Speaker in the whole of the Junior Competition. Finally, our second Junior Team managed to go all the way to the final, and walked away with the coveted prize they were all competing for. Lily, Taas A, Pun and Pyncha were exceptional throughout the day and in the final, taking down their opponents with persuasive arguments and ideas, showing a real quality in the art of debate. Have you got what it takes to compete with this lot? If so, speak to Mr Sherburn who will be able to arrange a Debate Club so next year we will be able to host other schools and build our very own trophy cabinet!
