U11 Boys TISAC Tournament BKK Prep, News, Primary, Sport December 4, 2018 Our U11 Boys Basketball team took part in their TISAC tournament on Friday (30th November). The boys started their pool games with a loss 6-12 against Bromsgrove (who later on reached the final) but came back fighting against St Andrews 71(STA 71) to win. However after a small break the boys suffered another defeat to Trail International School (TIS). With a mixture of results across the groups it was hard to say where the boys would finish. Our final pool game was against St Stephen’s International School, the boys played their best basketball and managed to win 10-2. We were sitting in second with all of the other school still having to play their final game. After a nail biting game against TIS and STA71 we finally knew our final placing. The boys finished an impressive second in a very tough group. We now entered the knockout stages of the competition. The boys’ first game was against DUSIT; finally the boys had found their feet and produced some fantastic basketball. They won impressively 14-4 and advanced to the quarter finals. We found ourselves against Charter who we had narrowly lost to in the league. It was a tough game, not many points were scored. With two minutes to go the boys were 2-0 up. Unfortunately two late baskets saw Charter advance to the semi-finals and we were out of the competition. The team performed well throughout the season; they’ve had highs and lows but have learnt a lot about competitive basketball. Thematic Magic Embracing the beauty of diversity in our Thematic class!
