U11 Girls Football at Global Goals and TISAC Festival #1 BKK Prep, News, Primary, Sport February 15, 2019 Sunday 3rd February 2019 Global Goals at NIST The U11 girls represented Bangkok Prep at the Global Goals Tournament that Chelsea hosted at NIST on Sunday 3rd February. The team consisted of: Alexia, Coco, Yura, Lottie, Nina, Praew, Pam and Proud. The tournament was 5 aside, with particularly small goals – which the girls weren’t used to! During the morning, they played all the teams and won a few, drew some and lost a few in the playoffs. It was really close but unfortunately we lost in the semi-finals after a long battle in penalties. This left the girls in 4th place. The team showed fantastic effort throughout the tournament and did well even in the heat! Tuesday 12th February 2019 TISAC Festival #1 The U11 girls took part in their first TISAC festival on Tuesday this week at Soccer Pro in On Nut. There were 3 other teams at the festival, STA, BCIS and Sathorn, who we played once. The first game was against BCIS, unfortunately the team wasn’t quite warmed up and we lost 4-0. The next game the girls were switched on and started strong. The defence; Lisa and Proud worked really hard to keep the ball out, although through all the pressure we went 0-1 down. However, Coco managed to battle hard to get the ball in the back of the net eventually. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. The final game we knew was going to be tough one against STA. The girls worked really hard and had a few opportunities in goal through Yura dribbling up the wing. Unfortunately STA managed to score 3 past us. With two minutes to go Praew managed to score a fantastic goal! It was fun to watch the girls work well as a team and enjoy themselves, even when they weren’t winning. A special mention must go to Lottie for her resilience – my player of the tournament! Francesca Woodland Primary PE Teacher Thematic Magic Embracing the beauty of diversity in our Thematic class!
