U13 FOBISIA – Our Most Successful Games Ever BKK Prep, News, Secondary, Sport March 22, 2019 The Bangkok Prep Bulldogs U13 FOBISIA Team returned to Bangkok this week after a highly successful FOBISIA Games at Thanyapura in Phuket. Our team of Year 7 and 8 athletes, as well as our four awesome coaches, succeeded in winning 5 trophies across the three day event. This is the highest number of trophies ever won by our school in a FOBISIA Games sporting event. Day 1 Swimming – 3rd Place Day 2 Girls Football – 1st Place Boys Basketball – 1st Place Day 3 Boys Football – 2nd Place Girls Basketball – 2nd Place Day 1 saw some amazing action in the pool during the morning followed by more success in track and field in the afternoon. The swimming relays kicked off the competition and, much to Coach Ollie’s delight, our teams performed exceptionally well. Our girls swim team placed in 3 out of a possible 4 relays and the boys swim team placed in 2 relays. The swimming morning also showcased some fantastic individual performances with individual medals being won by Filippo, Beacon, Prim, Melita, Jessi, Yumin and Alicia. It was a very successful start to our FOBISIA Games and we succeeded in winning 30 medals and the 3rd Place Trophy for Swimming. Well done to Coach Ollie and the team. The athletics afternoon was action packed with some awesome performances by our track and field athletes who have been training very hard with Ms McEwan and Ms Ohm. Our team succeeded in bringing home 12 athletics medals to finish the first day. Congratulations to our athletics coaches and our medallists – Petch, Izzy, Rio, Julia, Yumin, Sebastian, Cameron, Filippo and Oskar. Day 2 was our glory day. The day finished on an amazing high with victories to Ms McEwan’s Girls Football Team and Coach Andy’s Boys Basketball Team. Both of these teams secured the first place trophies for Bangkok Prep after plenty of back to back action on both the pitch and the court. Day 3 was our final day of competition and finished on a high after our Boys Football Team and Girls Basketball Team both succeeded in winning second place trophies. Well done to all our coaches and athletes who showed amazing sportsmanship and awesome Bulldog spirit. The Bangkok Prep U13 FOBISIA team was managed by Ms McEwan as our Tour Leader and coach of our Football and Athletics teams. Ms McEwan worked tirelessly with our teams to prepare us to perform at our best against some of the strongest British International schools in Asia. Our Swim team was managed by Coach Ollie, who together with Coach Arm and Coach Oat, can be found every morning on pool deck before the sun rises. Our swim coaches show constant dedication to the pursuit of excellence and train our swimmers like Olympic athletes. Our basketball team was led by Coach Andy and assisted back home by Coach Mike. These coaches have an absolute passion for the game of basketball and results speak for themselves. All of the coaches were assisted by Ms Ohm who is an amazing athlete herself and a wonderful asset to the coaching team. The 2019 U13 FOBISIA team is very grateful for the opportunity to represent Bangkok Prep in swimming, athletics, football and basketball and we look forward to our next FOBISIA Games.
