UKMT Junior Competition Academic, BKK Prep, COMPETITIONS & ACHIEVEMENTS, Event, News, Secondary May 18, 2023 The UKMT Junior Awards are in! Students in Year 7 and 8 were encouraged to voluntarily take part in the prestigious UKMT Junior awards. UKMT enriches the mathematical education of our students by providing them with the opportunity to use their mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency skills alongside their basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The questions on the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience. This year 70 students took part, and we achieved an outstanding 20 gold, 16 silver and 15 bronze awards. Best in school: Haruma I Best in Year 7: Ran K Best in Year 8: Haruma I In the eyes of the great Stoics, success was defined not by the outcome, but by the process and all our students who took part in the UKMT will receive a participation certificate, well done everyone! We aim to encourage even more voluntary participants next year and endeavour to improve the process of life-long learning within Mathematics. Thank you to Miss Warburton for facilitating and organising this enrichment activity. Jonathan England Mathematics and Computing Faculty Leader Congratulations on your University Offers Nammon K.
