UKMT Junior Maths Challenge - Bangkok Prep

UKMT Junior Maths Challenge

We had a fantastic turn out at the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge with 86 students across Year 7 and 8 taking part in the challenge, which was held after school on Wednesday 27th April.

There were 11 students awarded the Gold certificate, 19 students awarded Silver certificates and 23 students awarded bronze certificates.

Special congratulations go to Ayaka F in Year 8 who achieved the Best in School and Kiarash N in Year 7 for the Best in Year 7.

The Junior Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice Challenge. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience. The UKMT Challenges are highly popular in the UK and around the world with over 100,000 students taking part each year. Certificates are given for those that achieve the best scores, in their school, in their year, as well as gold, silver and bronze awards. Students who perform exceptionally well can qualify for the Junior Olympiad.
