The Junior Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice Challenge. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience. The UKMT Challenges are highly popular in the UK and around the world with over 100,000 students taking part each year. Certificates are given for those that achieve the best scores, in their school, in their year, as well as gold, silver and bronze awards. Students who perform exceptionally well can qualify for the Junior Olympiad.
