World Scholar’s Cup Global Round 2019 – Sydney, Australia BKK Prep, News, Secondary August 28, 2019 On 14th-21st August, thirteen Bangkok Prep Scholars attended the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round in Sydney, Australia. It was an intense week, packed with team-building events, trips and cruises alongside the main Competition part. In Team Debate, Scholar’s Challenge and Scholar’s Bowl, our Scholars competed with over 2000 Scholars from 27 countries representing 200 schools. Overall, Bangkok Prep students came back with over 50 gold and silver medals, an alpaca each and some amazing rankings – a fantastic achievement, especially for the youngest members of the Junior Team. The Sydney Global Round was the biggest World Scholar’s Global event this year (apart from the Tournament of Champions at Yale in November), which emphasises the achievements of the Bangkok Prep team. With rankings starting at 600, some of the highlights for us were 43. place for individual Debate Champions, 43. place in the individual Writing Challenge, 32. place in the Champion Teams category and 16. place for Team Writing.
