Nibble, nibble, little mouse. Who is nibbling at my house? December 13, 2017 Year 1 had a head start on the holidays by reading the traditional German story, Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm. We practised retelling the story through puppetry and sign language. Then we analyzed characters and wrote instructions on how to make gingerbread houses. Our first gingerbread houses were made out of recycled junk and papier mache. We made so many houses that now we have a small village in each class! But we did not stop there. We made sweet, scrumptious gingerbread houses made with rich buttercream frosting and topped with sugary cereal, gumdrops, candy canes, marshmallows, pretzels, and of course, chocolate!
