Soccer 7’s – Round up of Day 1 & 2 November 27, 2017 Day 1 Our football teams made a valiant effort of their first day in their Soccer 7’s tournament in Phuket over the weekend. The scores do not reflect the effort, teamwork and skill growth shown on the field. Well done to all the players and thank you for our parent supporters both at home and here with us. Day 1 Results: U11 Boys v’s BPS 0-2 Loss, v’s DCB 1-2 Loss (goal scorer – Monte) and v’s ISS 2-2 (goal scorer – Monte x2). Group play continues tomorrow; their 1st games is 7am at BISP. U11 Girls v SIS 1-1 (goal scorer Poey), v’s TTS 1-3 Loss (goal scorer Iva) and v’s BISP-O 0-3 Loss. Placed 3rd in their group today; their first game on Saturday is 8am at BISP. U13 Boys v’s CI 1-1 (goal scorer Filippo), v’s BISP-O 0-6 Loss and v’s DCSC 1-2 Loss (goal scorer Paky). Group play continues tomorrow; their 1st game Saturday is 8am at Songkla University. U13 Girls v’s DCSG 0-3 Loss, v’s MCM 0-5 Loss and SHB 0-3 Loss. Placed 4th in their group; their first game on Saturday is 7.30am at BISP. Teams will be leaving directly from BISP for the airport. The time of departure from BISP will be subject to change, depending on the team’s progression through the final stages of the tournament. Day 2 Soccer 7’s Day 2 results Our players and coaches have enjoyed being a part of the 14th Annual Soccer 7’s tournament and we saw the end to some very exciting football games. The U11 and U13 teams ended their second day with the following results: U11 Boys v’s BISH 3-0 Win (Goal scorers – Nicholas x2, Monte x1), v’s BISP-B 3-0 (goal scorers – Nicholas x2, Monte x1), DCS 3-1 Loss (goal scorer – Monte). U11 Girls v MCM 1-0 Loss, and v’s BSC 1-1 (goal scorer Iva). To advance the girls on to play for the plate, we had to win this game on penalties. Poey scored an excellent first penalty, followed by Lottie saving the next. Unfortunately the remaining penalties were saved by their keeper and we conceded the remaining 2 shots on us. It was a very exciting end to our time at the tournament. U13 Boys v’s DCSG 2-1 Loss (goal scorer Paky), v’s ISPU 0-0 and v’s ISS 0-2 Loss. U13 Girls v’s KLASS 0-4 Loss and v’s Dulwich 0-2 Loss. Thank you to our very supportive parents for sending their son/daughter to represent Bangkok Prep and for moving from pitch to pitch cheering on all the teams. We are on our way home now and look forward to getting back to Bangkok. Term 2, January sees the start of our TISAC season and BISAC invitational competitions; we look forward to seeing how well our teams can do. Go Bulldogs!!
