Think Pink Charity Donation February 8, 2018 On Thursday 18th January a group of students went to the Queen Sirikit Breast Cancer Centre to present the money raised on the 3rd November on Think Pink day. We met an inspirational couple who are fulfilling Queen Sirikit’s dream of making the centre a ‘sanctuary for women in need’. Dr Kris and his wife Finola have managed to achieve the impossible. With no Business Plan and very little funding they have a centre that has equipment that other hospitals in other countries are coming to view. This year we presented a cheque for over 50,000 baht. In previous years we have raised enough to buy equipment for the ward where patients receive their chemo treatments. Each patient receives the very best care from smiling nurses and a doctor who is passionate about giving women the very best chance to survive. 1 in 10 Thai women will face the challenge of breast cancer in her lifetime but there is a 98% survival rate with early detection. Dr Kris also leads a slum project allowing all women the opportunity for testing. An uplifting and inspiring place to visit for sure! Wearing Pink can achieve so much.
