Our U9 and U11 football teams play Shrewsbury Football Invitational Tournament October 2, 2018 U9 boys The U9 boys attended their first football tournament of the academic year at the Shrewsbury Invitational tournament. It was a fantastic opportunity to play against some of the best teams in Bangkok. Despite losing their first game to Shrewsbury, the boys went on to beat St Andrews 1-0 thanks to a superb strike from Vivek. In their third game, Prep won 1-0 against Rugby having dominated possession. A determined performance by Owen Smith in midfield was rewarded with a goal. Goalkeeper Milton did well to keep two clean sheets and was helped by solid defensive performances by Makam and Darcy. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm brought an early end to the tournament but it’s safe to say there was plenty of class before the storm. U9 girls After a nervy start, the girls found their stride and CJ scored a great goal to get the first win under their belts. The next game was against Rugby which the girls won 4-0 and the third game was against the home team – Shrewsbury. The girls played extremely well and started to work as a team to secure their third win of the tournament. Unfortunately due to stormy weather the tournament was cancelled halfway through, but the girls showed excellent promise for the season ahead! Well done to the team. U11 teams Our U11 boys lost 2 games and drew 1. And our U11 girls won 2 games and lost 1. This was a pre-season tournament as our football season starts officially in term 2. Well done bulldogs!
