Every day in Early Years is packed with new discoveries and purposeful good struggles. Children get curious, connect with friends and grow in confidence as they move through their routines. Timetables may differ, but here’s a glimpse of what happens between lessons for our youngest learners.
Please note: Break times vary by age group. In KS1 and KS2, breaks are staggered (for example, KS1 typically have their break from 9.15 - 9.40), while in EYFS, children have rolling access to snacks and drinks during child-led learning rather than a set, shared break time.

Children in Early Years set the foundations for academic and personal success in a nurturing, stimulating environment through English immersion, skill-building activities and teacher-guided discussions.
Leading academic achievement
Enjoy personalised learning that continuously enhances knowledge, skills and understanding.
Gain essential life values to thrive inside and outside the classroom.
Foster language skills and build confidence, with support in the students' home or first languages.
Teachers get to know each student by watching how they step up, connect and learn every day. No formal tests, just real moments that show progress against early learning goals. At the end of Early Years, children confidently use basic words to communicate, know numbers from 0 to 10, recognize their name and begin to know how to write it in lowercase letters.
Families stay in the loop through the Primary blog, school newsletter and regular parent-teacher chats along with regular opportunities to spend time with children within our Early Years environment.
Children live by the Bangkok Prep Values every day, focusing on social, emotional, and physical development. In Nursery, they begin toilet training, learn to feed themselves with hands or utensils and practise dressing and undressing for PE or swimming. They learn to put on and remove shoes, sometimes with a little help, and spark curiosity with English nursery rhymes. A consistent sleep schedule keeps everyone rested and ready to connect.
By Reception, children become more independent in self-care routines, from cleaning themselves after the toilet to changing clothes and managing shoes on their own.
Children are exposed to English every day, guided by native English teachers and Thai-speaking teaching assistants who know how to spark curiosity and confidence. Language grows naturally here as children pick up new words and phrases through play, stories and daily routines.
Immersion means they don’t just learn English, they live it, connecting with friends and teachers in a vibrant international community.
Every student at Bangkok Prep joins one of four Houses – Bears, Lions, Tigers or Elephants – staying with their team from Primary through Secondary. Through academic and sporting events, students collaborate, compete and build strong teamwork and House spirit.
