At our Primary School in Thailand, students experience a curriculum that follows the English National Curriculum, enriched to reflect the culture and society of Thailand. They learn through an innovative thematic approach, exploring subjects in ways that feel relevant and engaging.
Through thematic learning, students explore the following traditional subjects:
English and Math, as they're foundational to other subjects, are allotted dedicated time each day.
Learners expand their learning through specialist classes in:
The thematic approach turns learning into an adventure. Students jump into big ideas that connect different subjects, so everything makes sense together. Each theme feels real, think building a model city or exploring the natural world, so learners see how lessons fit into everyday life.
Along the way, children ask questions, share ideas and work together, preparing for a more sustainable future. Every lesson is a chance to create, solve problems and grow.
Students are encouraged to:
These profound learning experiences inevitably begin to define children as individuals and ensure they lead a fulfilling life.
Every day in Primary School is packed with interesting learning sessions. Students build strong core competencies and knowledge as they move through their routines. Timetables may differ, but here’s a glimpse of what happens between lessons for our Primary learners.
Please note: Break times vary by age group. In KS1 and KS2, breaks are staggered (for example, KS1 typically have their break from 9.15 - 9.40), while in EYFS, children have rolling access to snacks and drinks during child-led learning rather than a set, shared break time.

Transition to Secondary
Step into Secondary School with confidence, prepared to push boundaries and drive positive change.
Academic achievement in Primary is all about social, emotional and academic growth, with teachers using daily feedback and observation to guide every step.
Instead of relying only on traditional SATs, learners show what they know through purposeful learning and regular check-ins. Standardised tests add another layer, letting us see how students measure up against peers in the UK and international schools.
Here’s the difference - while only one in six children typically exceed expectations in these tests, Bangkok Prep students go further, on average, making half a grade more progress than predicted.
Primary students grow into confident, independent and compassionate learners, ready for an interconnected world. Every day, they live out our 11 core life values: Globally Minded, Creative, Honest, Responsible, Resilient, Resourceful, Brave, Caring, Collaborative, Respectful and Proactive.
During Primary School, the Value of the Month takes centre stage, with age-appropriate activities woven into lessons so students can practise and reflect on each value in real life.
By living these values, learners shape the Bangkok Prep Learner Profile, building character, sparking curiosity, showing empathy, preparing for life and working towards a sustainable future.
English is at the heart of learning and daily life in Primary, helping every child reach confidence and fluency in oral and written communication, with support available for those who need it.
In Year 1, international students try out different languages among Thai, Japanese, Spanish, French and Mandaring through the Language Carousel Programme. Thai students explore their home language with the option to take up even more languages through after-school activities.
From Year 2, every learner studies one World Language of their choice, building skills that open doors to new cultures and ideas.
Each year, students engage in International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS), broadening their global perspectives. These programmes, including ISP Artists, ISP Scientists, ISP Changemakers and ISP Chess Masters, inspire them to pursue their passions and prepare them for success in a connected world.
Residential trips give Primary students the chance to step out of the classroom. On the Year 6 trip, students explore the powerful history of the Thailand–Burma Railway at the JEATH War Museum and the famous River Kwai Bridge, bringing their learning to life.
Year 6 students step into Secondary School prepared and reassured. Throughout the year, they visit the Secondary campus, take part in taster lessons and meet the teachers who’ll guide them next. These experiences turn new spaces into familiar ground and help students build real connections before the first day.
By the time Year 7 begins, learners feel ready and confident. Anxiety drops, excitement grows and every student starts their next chapter knowing they belong.
Every student at Bangkok Prep joins one of four Houses – Bears, Lions, Tigers or Elephants – staying with their team from Primary through Secondary. Through academic and sporting events, students collaborate, compete and build strong teamwork and House spirit.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the last 7 years of Spanish. Being at USC in Los Angeles, this language has been one of the most useful skills I could have obtained.

My daughter started at Bangkok Prep in August 2022. I was impressed by how quickly she settled in. It’s clear that all the people who work at the school, whether teachers, assistants, school leadership or admin staff, all care deeply about providing a good and safe educational experience, both in and outside the classr
