Our curriculum

At our Primary School in Thailand, students experience a curriculum that follows the English National Curriculum, enriched to reflect the culture and society of Thailand. They learn through an innovative thematic approach, exploring subjects in ways that feel relevant and engaging.

Innovative English National Curriculum

Through thematic learning, students explore the following traditional subjects:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Phonics
  • Science
  • Art and Design Technology
  • Geography
  • Computing
  • History
  • Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) Education

English and Math, as they're foundational to other subjects, are allotted dedicated time each day.

Specialist classes

Thematic approach

The thematic approach turns learning into an adventure. Students jump into big ideas that connect different subjects, so everything makes sense together. Each theme feels real, think building a model city or exploring the natural world, so learners see how lessons fit into everyday life.

Along the way, children ask questions, share ideas and work together, preparing for a more sustainable future. Every lesson is a chance to create, solve problems and grow.

Thematic approach

Student-led learning

Students are encouraged to:

  • Take increasing responsibility for finding answers to their questions, both independently and collaboratively
  • Learn through doing rather than simply observing or listening
  • Cultivate lifelong passions, interests and talents
  • Develop to the highest standard in all subject areas

These profound learning experiences inevitably begin to define children as individuals and ensure they lead a fulfilling life.

Student-led learning

A typical day at school in our Primary School

Every day in Primary School is packed with interesting learning sessions. Students build strong core competencies and knowledge as they move through their routines. Timetables may differ, but here’s a glimpse of what happens between lessons for our Primary learners.

Please note: Break times vary by age group. In KS1 and KS2, breaks are staggered (for example, KS1 typically have their break from 9.15 - 9.40), while in EYFS, children have rolling access to snacks and drinks during child-led learning rather than a set, shared break time.

Life in our Primary School

Ilay

What I appreciate the most about our wonderful school is undoubtedly the staff.

They work incredibly hard to provide every single child, from Nursery to Year 6, with a joyful experience throughout the year! I love that the school offers numerous opportunities for students to represent the school while challenging thems

It was fun learning Mandarin with the class, watching videos, and I feel confident when having a Mandarin conversation with someone.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the last 7 years of Spanish. Being at USC in Los Angeles, this language has been one of the most useful skills I could have obtained.

My daughter started at Bangkok Prep in August 2022. I was impressed by how quickly she settled in. It’s clear that all the people who work at the school, whether teachers, assistants, school leadership or admin staff, all care deeply about providing a good and safe educational experience, both in and outside the classr
