Competing against nearly 400 students from across the region, our adventure began on Thursday with some sightseeing around Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay, sampling delicious food at Singapore's famous hawker centres and soaking up the atmosphere of this incredible city. After a hearty hotel breakfast, it was time for the competition! Our Junior team (Hobby, Isaac, Jenny and Panwara) and Senior team (Theo, Haruma, Austin and Jeffrey) tackled a series of challenging mathematical rounds, including Shuttle, Crossnumber, Group and Poster challenges. Teamwork and communication were essential, and our students certainly rose to the occasion! Both teams achieved outstanding results, placing within the top 5–15% across the various challenges and collecting an impressive haul of Gold and Silver medals! A special highlight came during the individual head-to-head competition. From 216 Junior competitors, just eight made it through to the final knockout rounds, including our very own Isaac! Showing incredible speed, accuracy and composure, Isaac went on to win the entire competition! Just as impressive was his exemplary sportsmanship, shaking hands with his opponents and showing genuine respect throughout. Beyond the mathematics, there was plenty of laughter, sightseeing and, of course, food! The pancakes at Singapore Airport were a particular favourite and a fitting end to a brilliant trip. Despite some very long days, all eight students were an absolute credit to Bangkok Prep. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and conduct throughout made us incredibly proud. A huge congratulations to all eight students for representing Bangkok Prep so brilliantly. Fantastic mathematics, wonderful memories and plenty of pancakes – Singapore 2026 was certainly one to remember! Jamie KeightleyUKMT Singapore Trip Leader
