Over the past month, our students volunteered their time and skills to enhance the educational experiences and English skills of younger students in two local communities.Teaching English for students from Bang Ma Khuea Mosque SchoolMalak (Y13) Disney, Pear, Win, Yaashna, Gwen, Jennifer, Zara, and Fahsai (Y12) taught English to 32 students from Bang Ma Khuea Mosque school focusing on improving their English speaking skills. Their lesson plans include self-introduction, giving directions, and sharing about interests/hobbies using games and interactive activities suitable for the students' age group.A Meaningful Half Term: English and Video Making at Wat Phasee SchoolAnother cohort of student volunteers, Charlie (Y13) Mimi (Y12) and Suri (Y10) spent their half term making a significant impact at Wat Phasee School. They delivered a 5-days course focusing on English speaking skills for video making. Wat Phasee is a famous spiritual destination for people to come and pay respect so our volunteers helped the students create a short English video introducing important locations within the temple. The Impact of Student VolunteerismThese volunteer efforts exemplify how students can be powerful agents of change. Beyond the tangible skills imparted, the volunteers served as role models, inspiring the younger students to pursue their education with curiosity. As the students return to their studies, they leave behind not just lesson plans, but a legacy of inspiration and a practical toolkit of skills that will undoubtedly enrich the lives of the young learners at both Wat Phasee and Bang Ma Khuea Mosque Schools.A special thanks to Senator Patima Jeerapaet and his team for initiating the sister school project and connecting us with both local schools.A special thank you to Mr. Green, Ms. Court-Smith, Khun Pom, Khun Aun, Khun Nam, and Khun Paige for making this project a success!
