Bringing the Classroom to Google HQ: A Primary Teacher’s Insights on AI in Education

29-05-2026

A Bangkok Prep Year 4 teacher joined a Google HQ panel on AI in education, sharing real classroom insights on using Gemini with young learners.

Recently, Google Headquarters in Bangkok hosted an inspiring panel on the future of learning, featuring three select speakers representing the intersection of artificial intelligence and education. Among them was Mr Smart, a Year 4 teacher at Bangkok Prep, stepped out of his comfort zone to share firsthand experiences of bringing AI into the Primary classroom.

Empowering Schools with Gemini

The event provided a deep dive into the practical and thoughtful applications of AI for young learners. The panel's discussion spanned several critical areas, including:
  • Gemini Implementation: Exploring how to seamlessly integrate Gemini within the Google Suite to streamline teacher workflows.
  • Educational Best Practices: Establishing clear, age-appropriate guidelines for using AI in primary settings.
  • Student Wellbeing: Ensuring that the introduction of new technology supports, rather than overwhelms, young minds.
  • AI as a Learning Tool: Highlighting ways to use AI as an interactive, collaborative partner in a child's education.
Demonstrating the accessible power of these modern tools, Mr Smart showcased how bringing ideas to life through Gemini can empower anyone to become a capable coder, regardless of their technical background.

"It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community," Mr Smart noted. "Meeting so many like-minded folks who are passionate about the future of education was truly inspiring. I loved being able to bring a teacher's perspective to the stage and share a few AI examples from my classroom."

By placing real classroom teachers at the forefront of the AI conversation, events like this at Google HQ ensure that the future of educational technology remains grounded, innovative, and focused entirely on student success.
