Last month, 16 ambitious Year 12 students marked a significant milestone: the 5th anniversary of Bangkok Prep’s participation in the prestigious British Biology Olympiad. This international competition challenges students to apply complex biological principles to unfamiliar, real-world scenarios, stretching them well beyond the standard curriculum.
We are thrilled to announce more impressive results! Poon Aneckvanich secured a Gold award, an elite achievement placing him among the top young biologists globally. This success was bolstered by a fantastic collective effort, with our students also earning 3 Bronze awards and 2 Highly Commended certificates.
Congratulations to all 16 participants for representing the school with such distinction.
The momentum will continue with two upcoming opportunities for our budding scientists:
Biology Challenge (Years 9 & 10): Taking place at the beginning of May.
Intermediate Biology Olympiad (Years 11 & 12): Scheduled for June.
These competitions are a fantastic way to develop the deep analytical skills required for advanced scientific study.
We look forward to seeing our students across all year groups continue to push the boundaries of their scientific understanding!
