This week in our Meet the Staff series, we shine the spotlight on Supaksiri Panyayong (Khun Toom), our dedicated Primary Coordinator and Senior Parents Liaison at Bangkok Prep.

From helping each day begin smoothly for children and staff to building strong, trusting partnerships with families, Khun Toom plays a vital role at the heart of our Primary community.

In this feature, she shares what inspired her journey into education, what makes our campus feel like home, and how a sense of humour – and the occasional meme – can make a real difference.

What inspired you to work in education, and particularly within the Primary phase?

My move into education was shaped by both my professional experience and becoming a parent. I’m particularly drawn to the Primary because it’s where children build characters, routines, and a sense of belonging. I enjoy being part of Primary team that helps each day start smoothly, supporting both children and staff.

What do you enjoy most about your role as Primary Coordinator and Senior Parents Liaison at Bangkok Prep?

It's challenging every day. What I enjoy most are the Bangkok Prep community with children, staff, and families. As Senior Parents Liaison, I love helping children feel happy, confident, and ready to learn, while being a friendly, familiar face for Bangkok Prep families, and, when appropriate, bringing a touch of humour.

How do you support positive relationships between school and families, and why do you feel this partnership is so important?

Being a good listener, communicating openly, and building trust over time. Bangkok Prep Life Values taught me the importance of empathy, understanding, and collaboration, especially during challenging moments. I believe the partnership between school and families is essential.

What makes the Bangkok Prep Primary community special to you?

I joined the Bangkok Prep community when the Primary School was still based at the Thonglor campus, which had a wonderful commuity feeling to it. As the school has grown, it’s kept a close and friendly feel. There’s always support when you need it. That is a big part of why I’ve stayed and I am proud to be a part of the community.

What do you enjoy doing outside of school?

Life is always busy and active with my two children. The days are usually filled with a full pack of activities. We do enjoy the outdoors and sports. I also enjoy being a bit of a wannabe chef at home, trying new recipes, and cooking for my family and friends which I find both relaxing and fun.

Biography - Supaksiri Panyayong (Khun Toom), Primary Coordinator and Senior Parents Liaison

After graduating, I worked as a Project Coordinator across Southeast Asia and was a part of a post-tsunami reconciliation team, which was granted by EU. Originally, I am from Chiang Mai, a city rich in culture and community. Becoming a parent to two children encouraged me to change pace and led me to Bangkok Prep, where I now work as a Primary Coordinator and Senior Parents Liaison. My days usually start with monitoring registrations, following up on late children, and working closely with the wellbeing and service team to support children. I also keep the Primary team updated with AQI information and daily news — always trying to keep communication clear and friendly.   And while I may not sound overly formal, I do believe a well-timed meme at the end of an email can brighten the day and bring the team together.
