Bangkok Prep recently met with the Social Innovation Foundation, under the ThaiHealth Promotion Foundation, to discuss employment opportunities for persons with disabilities through Section 35 initiatives and community-based support programmes. The Social Innovation Foundation works to promote social-model employment in rural areas, helping create an inclusive society where persons with disabilities are empowered to live and work with dignity within their local communities. During the meeting, representatives from the Foundation highlighted the challenges faced by many persons with disabilities in rural areas, particularly the need for greater access to employment opportunities, support systems and resources that enable independent and meaningful lives. As part of this partnership, Bangkok Prep has employed three persons with disabilities through the Social Innovation Foundation. Importantly, these individuals are able to work within schools located close to their homes, allowing them to remain connected to their families and communities while contributing in meaningful ways.
