We started the year by setting our new communication principles, which involved three steps, asking ‘What’s Our Intention?’, ‘Listening to Understand’, and ‘What Are Our Next Steps?’.This set the tone for a more transparent working environment and gave us standards to uphold for the academic year. For our ‘quick wins’ this academic year, we wanted to keep true to our campaigns, including the creation of the Bangkok Prep Tiktok, joining a community of Head Students around the world, and continued transparency regarding student leadership work through social media or student slides, with ‘traffic light’ style posts. These projects allowed us to kickstart student leadership with achievable targets, setting the standards for the academic year.Similarly to past years, we kickstarted the year by opening an application process for Deputy Heads and Assistant Heads positions. This process included submitting a cover letter, then Deputy Head and Assistant Head candidates working collaboratively to come up with a strong pitch on what needs most improvement in school. Finally, this was presented to Ms. Court-Smith and the Head Students in an ‘elevator pitch’.After careful consideration, given the strong quality of candidates for both positions, we were able to pick the strongest candidates in order to ensure that the SET team would be as capable as possible. This year’s successful candidates include Guy as our Deputy Head Boy and KJ as our Deputy Head Girl. They have worked diligently as part of the SET team to contribute meaningful ideas and worked proactively to complete tasks. To round out our SSLT (Senior Student Leadership Team), we selected our talented Assistant Heads, Yeaha (Performance), Advika (Relationships), Ross (Enrichment) and Ashley (Public Relations) who have propelled student leadership forward through their respective leadership of their portfolio groups. This has led to numerous successful projects from each strand, including the Staff vs Students event, a renewed Peer Mentoring system, participation in the Bangkok Climate Action Youth Challenge, and the release of a new Wellbeing Podcast.A taste of what is to come includes a plethora of projects across our four strands. Listed below are our most ambitious projects across our multifaceted leadership ecosystem!
