From the start, students were full of wonder. A tent beneath tall trees sparked excitement and curiosity— “This looks like a camping site!” Questions quickly followed, and exploration began.True to Forest School education, learning was child-led. Some students settled into quiet time, others cared for chickens and vegetables, while an adventurous group explored the area, discovering feathers, fallen fruit, and bird resting spots.A buzzing carpenter bee with shiny blue wings stopped everyone in their tracks.A powerful moment came with the discovery of a deceased Green Pigeon. Drawing on their learning, students chose to return the bird to the soil, honouring the cycle of life with empathy, gratitude, and flowers.As we left, one question lingered: “Can we come back to Wander Woods?” The answer is a clear yes!
